CVE-2021-47614

Linux Linux, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/irdma: Fix a user-after-free in add_pble_prm When irdma_hmc_sd_one fails, 'chunk' is freed while its still on the PBLE info list. Add the chunk entry to the PBLE info list only after successful setting of the SD in irdma_hmc_sd_one.

CVE-2021-47613

Linux Linux, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: virtio: fix completion handling The driver currently assumes that the notify callback is only received when the device is done with all the queued buffers. However, this is not true, since the notify callback could be called without any of the queued buffers being completed (for example, with virtio-pci and shared interrupts) or with only some of the buffers being completed (since the driver makes them available to the device in multiple separate virtqueue_add_sgs() calls). This can lead to incorrect data on the I2C bu...

CVE-2021-47605

Linux Linux, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vduse: fix memory corruption in vduse_dev_ioctl() The "config.offset" comes from the user. There needs to a check to prevent it being out of bounds. The "config.offset" and "dev->config_size" variables are both type u32. So if the offset if out of bounds then the "dev->config_size - config.offset" subtraction results in a very high u32 value. The out of bounds offset can result in memory corruption.

CVE-2021-47604

Linux Linux, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vduse: check that offset is within bounds in get_config() This condition checks "len" but it does not check "offset" and that could result in an out of bounds read if "offset > dev->config_size". The problem is that since both variables are unsigned the "dev->config_size - offset" subtraction would result in a very high unsigned value. I think these checks might not be necessary because "len" and "offset" are supposed to already have been validated using the vhost_vdpa_config_validate() function. But I do not know the code...

CVE-2021-47580

Linux Linux, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: scsi_debug: Fix type in min_t to avoid stack OOB Change min_t() to use type "u32" instead of type "int" to avoid stack out of bounds. With min_t() type "int" the values get sign extended and the larger value gets used causing stack out of bounds. CVE-2024-38612

Linux Linux, linux_kernel, acrn

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: sr: fix invalid unregister error path The error path of seg6_init() is wrong in case CONFIG_IPV6_SEG6_LWTUNNEL is not defined. In that case if seg6_hmac_init() fails, the genl_unregister_family() isn't called. This issue exist since commit 46738b1317e1 ("ipv6: sr: add option to control lwtunnel support"), and commit 5559cea2d5aa ("ipv6: sr: fix possible use-after-free and null-ptr-deref") replaced unregister_pernet_subsys() with genl_unregister_family() in this error path.

CVE-2024-38610

Linux Linux, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers/virt/acrn: fix PFNMAP PTE checks in acrn_vm_ram_map() Patch series "mm: follow_pte() improvements and acrn follow_pte() fixes". Patch #1 fixes a bunch of issues I spotted in the acrn driver. It compiles, that's all I know. I'll appreciate some review and testing from acrn folks. Patch #2+#3 improve follow_pte(), passing a VMA instead of the MM, adding more sanity checks, and improving the documentation. Gave it a quick test on x86-64 using VM_PAT that ends up using follow_pte(). This patch (of 3): We currently miss...

CVE-2024-38606

Linux Linux, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qat - validate slices count returned by FW The function adf_send_admin_tl_start() enables the telemetry (TL) feature on a QAT device by sending the ICP_QAT_FW_TL_START message to the firmware. This triggers the FW to start writing TL data to a DMA buffer in memory and returns an array containing the number of accelerators of each type (slices) supported by this HW. The pointer to this array is stored in the adf_tl_hw_data data structure called slice_cnt. The array slice_cnt is then used in the function tl_print_dev_...

CVE-2024-38605

Linux Linux, linux_kernel, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: core: Fix NULL module pointer assignment at card init The commit 81033c6b584b ("ALSA: core: Warn on empty module") introduced a WARN_ON() for a NULL module pointer passed at snd_card object creation, and it also wraps the code around it with '#ifdef MODULE'. This works in most cases, but the devils are always in details. "MODULE" is defined when the target code (i.e. the sound core) is built as a module; but this doesn't mean that the caller is also built-in or not. Namely, when only the sound core is built-in (CONFIG...

CVE-2024-38599

Linux Linux, SIMATIC S7-1500 TM MFP - GNU/Linux subsystem, linux kernel

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jffs2: prevent xattr node from overflowing the eraseblock Add a check to make sure that the requested xattr node size is no larger than the eraseblock minus the cleanmarker. Unlike the usual inode nodes, the xattr nodes aren't split into parts and spread across multiple eraseblocks, which means that a xattr node must not occupy more than one eraseblock. If the requested xattr value is too large, the xattr node can spill onto the next eraseblock, overwriting the nodes and causing errors such as: jffs2: argh. node added in wr...
